A complete set



The third and final Almohad minaret, the Koutoubia in Marrakesh. Here the original mosque is still attached.



On the other side is the remains of an earlier Almoravid mosque that was torn down because it did not properly align with Mecca (a common problem with the old mosques in Morocco) The former western wall of this mosque became the eastern wall of the new mosque. You can see the mihrab of the old mosque in this picture and also where the open courtyard would have been (the lower left hand corner of the photo)

I think I like the one in Sevilla the best (it's the prettiest!).
