The road to Damascus

Hehe, it's pretty cheesy but of course I had to have a blog post with this title. I decided to make my trip to one of the worlds oldest and most amazing cities extra special by walking and hitchhiking from Lebanon. I walked for about 4 1/2 hours from Aanjar across the border to this sign and then 10 minutes later got a ride and 20 minutes after that I was in Damascus. While walking I was stopped three times to have tea with people along the way.

Lebanon

Tyre, the most important city of the Phoenicians, but like Carthage the ruins you can stil see today are mostly from Roman times.

Felafel in Tyre, only 50 cents a sandwich, and I don't really need to tell you how ridiculously good they are do I?

Byblos, 8000 years of human settlement from prehistoric times to the Crusades.
